We discovered a bug with the ScreenWatch recording system that might build a ScreenWatch file with packets that have an incorrect timestamp embedded in them. This might cause a playback problem when being streamed from a RealServer installation. This problem would not show itself if you are streaming ScreenWatch files from a Website using the HTTP protocol, using Windows Media Format, or deploying your content on CD-ROM. If a streaming file has a problem, it is most likely to show up as a General Error in the Realplayer playback. It would also be more likely to show up when playing back in a bandwidth constrained environment. There are 2 ways to use the ScreenWatch File Repair Utility: 1. Patching a specific ScreenWatch file that has exhibited playback problems. 2. By a Realserver administrator who wishes to check and repair all of their published ScreenWatch files on a server. Repairing an Individual ScreenWatch File 1. Start up the ScreenWatch File Repair Utility either from the bin folder where ScreenWatch has been installed, or from the location you specified in the ScreenWatch File Repair Utility download extraction. 2. Select the Repair 1 SC File button and select the .sc file you wish to repair. 3. After selecting the file, the repair process starts automatically and will give a message when completed. 4. If a packet problem is detected in the file, you will see a message about how many bad packet timestamps were discovered. If there were no errors detected in the file, it will list 0 packets as being repaired. Repairing ScreenWatch Files in Batch Mode If you have an entire folder or set of folders containing ScreenWatch files to be repaired you can use the second option of repair. Start up the ScreenWatch File Repair Utility either from the bin folder where ScreenWatch has been installed, or from the location you specified in the ScreenWatch File Repair Utility download extraction. Select the Select Folder to Repair/Traverse button. Choose the top level folder or individual folder to search for and repair your ScreenWatch Files. ScreenWatch will also automatically traverse any other folders found below the selected folder and repair any ScreenWatch files found there. After the folder has been selected, press the Begin Repair button. It takes up to 1 minute for each ScreenWatch file to be repaired. You can view the status of the files being processed in the list box above the control buttons. It is not advisable to select C:\ or a top level driver to repair because of the time it will take to parse all folders in a system. # > J hpsh!Kh@hp/ -./s t I J L M N w x H I b & Fgd@gd@gd@bph^hgd@ & Fgd@,1h/ =!"#$% @@@ NormalCJ_HaJmH sH tH Z@Z @ Heading 1$<@&5CJ KH OJQJ\^JaJ \@\ @ Heading 2$<@& 56CJOJQJ\]^JaJDA@D Default Paragraph FontRi@R Table Normal4 l4a (k@(No List -./stIJLMNwxHI b p 00000000000000N0N0N0N0N0N0N0N0N0000 0 0 0 0 0 0000 b DJ 33sH~>JK DJ BbP%^`o(. ^`hH. pLp^p`LhH. @ @ ^@ `hH. ^`hH.
